Prohibited Goods Policy

1. Introduction

This Prohibited Goods Policy explains the types of goods that Nationload Ltd will not transport.

This policy is intended as a general guide for customers. The Conditions of Carriage contain the legally binding terms governing the carriage of goods and shall take precedence in the event of any inconsistency.

Nationload Ltd reserves the right to refuse any booking or cancel any booking where the goods presented for transport are prohibited, unlawful, unsafe or otherwise unsuitable for carriage.

2. Prohibited Goods

Nationload Ltd will not transport goods including, but not limited to:

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances.

  • Explosives, fireworks or ammunition.

  • Firearms or prohibited weapons.

  • Hazardous chemicals or toxic substances.

  • Radioactive materials.

  • Biological hazards or infectious materials.

  • Human remains, body parts or organs.

  • Live animals or livestock.

  • Hazardous waste.

  • Counterfeit, stolen or illegally obtained goods.

  • Goods prohibited by UK law.

  • Goods subject to trade sanctions or export restrictions where carriage would be unlawful.

  • Any goods that present an unreasonable risk to people, vehicles or property.

This list is not exhaustive.

3. Restricted Goods

The following categories of goods are Restricted Goods and must not be submitted for carriage unless expressly agreed in writing by a director of Nationload Ltd before collection:

  • Cash and banknotes.

  • Cheques, negotiable instruments and bonds.

  • Credit, debit or payment cards.

  • Deeds, share certificates and other documents of title.

  • Jewellery, watches and precious metals or stones.

  • Bullion.

  • Furs.

  • Fine art, antiques and collectibles.

  • Rare stamps and coins.

  • Any other goods of a similarly high value relative to their size which are not readily replaceable.

Where a customer wishes to send Restricted Goods, they must:

  • notify Nationload Ltd before booking;

  • declare the value of the goods; and

  • arrange their own insurance for the full value of those goods.

Nationload Ltd does not provide Goods in Transit insurance for Restricted Goods.

Restricted Goods submitted without prior written approval may be refused for carriage. If such goods are carried without prior written approval, Nationload Ltd's liability will be limited in accordance with the Conditions of Carriage.

4. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • accurately describing the goods;

  • declaring any restricted goods before booking;

  • ensuring the goods are legal to transport;

  • packaging goods appropriately;

  • complying with all applicable laws.

Failure to declare prohibited or restricted goods may result in refusal of carriage, cancellation of the booking or additional charges where permitted under our Conditions of Carriage.

5. Right to Refuse Carriage

Nationload Ltd may refuse to carry any goods where we reasonably believe that:

  • they breach this policy;

  • they breach our Conditions of Carriage;

  • they present a health or safety risk;

  • they may damage other property;

  • they may expose us or our subcontractors to legal or regulatory risk.
